Team New Nigeria (TNN) has approved the allocation formula for its national leadership positions ahead of its registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as ratified by the Board of Trustees (BoT)following the recommendations of the party’s Political Management Committee.
The TNN is set to hold its national conference on October 29, 2025, in Abuja, where the party’s leadership structure will be further consolidated. This zoning arrangement is aimed at promoting inclusivity and regional balance within the party’s organizational framework.
According to the approved formula, the position of national chairman has been zoned to the North-West geopolitical zone, which comprises Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states. This decision underscores the party’s commitment to equitable representation across Nigeria’s diverse regions.
In addition to the national chairman, other key positions allocated to the North-West include national youth leader, national PWD leader, national secretary for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, national secretary for Economic Affairs and Planning, as well as several deputy positions.
The South-South zone, consisting of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, and Rivers states, will produce the national secretary general, national auditor, national deputy publicity secretary, and a range of secretarial roles covering Environment, Natural Resources, Energy, Petroleum, Mining, and Water Resources.
For the South-East region, made up of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states, positions such as national organising secretary, national women leader, national director-general (South Operations), and secretaries for MSMEs, Trade, Industrialization, and Devolution & Intergovernmental Relations have been allocated.
The South-West zone, encompassing Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo states, is slated to fill offices including national financial secretary, national welfare secretary, national secretary for international affairs, national secretary for tourism, sports and culture, national secretary for transport and infrastructure, as well as several deputy roles.
In the North-East, comprising Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe states, positions such as national treasurer, national students leader, national deputy auditor, national director-general (North Strategy), and secretaries for Information, Communication and Technology, Education, and Homeland Security have been zoned.
The North-Central zone, which includes Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will provide the national publicity secretary, national legal adviser, national secretary for labour and social services, national secretary for defence, national secretary for health, as well as various deputy roles.
TNN’s national director of publicity, Professor Iorshagher Stephen, had earlier released the allocation details following the release of the Political Management Committee report, chaired by Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi. The party’s leadership is confident that this zonal arrangement will foster unity and enhance the party’s national appeal.
As TNN prepares for its official registration with INEC, the approved formula reflects the party’s strategic effort to build an inclusive platform that resonates with Nigeria’s diverse geopolitical realities.
The upcoming national conference will mark a critical step in solidifying the party’s structure and setting the stage for its active participation in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
