Katsina State has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Managing Director of the State Water Board, Engr. Tukur Tingili, who died in a car accident on Thursday.

Sources within the agency confirmed the tragic incident, describing his passing as a painful loss to the Water Board and the state at large. Details surrounding the accident were still sketchy as of press time.

Engr. Tingili was a seasoned engineer and career public servant who dedicated years of service to the development of water infrastructure in Katsina State.

Before his appointment as Managing Director of the State Water Board, he served in various technical and administrative roles within the state’s water sector, contributing significantly to the planning and execution of water supply projects.

During his tenure as MD, he spearheaded reforms aimed at improving access to potable water, rehabilitating aging facilities, and expanding distribution networks to both urban and rural communities.

Colleagues described him as a committed technocrat, disciplined administrator, and mentor to younger professionals in the civil service.
