Nigerian actress and film producer Toyin Abraham has been celebrated with the Box Office Champion Award.

Abraham had grossed more than N1 billion from her Cinema movie, Oversabi Aunty, making her the first debut director in Nollywood to reach this groundbreaking milestone.

The Alakada actress received the prestigious award from the National Film and Video Censors Board on Thursday, 19 March, for box office achievements.

The executive director of NFVCB, Shuaib Husseini, has described the success as historic for Nollywood.

“This accomplishment is not only a personal triumph but a testament to the industry’s growing strength. You have entertained millions and encouraged others to dream bigger,” Husseini noted.
