The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has elected and sworn in new members of its State Administrative Council (SAC).
The exercise formed part of the activities marking the state’s 1st Quadrennial Delegates Conference, held on Tuesday, 18th November 2025, at the Alhaji Maitakobi Hall, RTEAN Headquarters, Wuse, Abuja.
In a keenly contested and transparent election, Comrade Amaoge Chukwudi of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) emerged as the winner and was sworn in as the first female chairman of the TUC FCT Council.
The election commenced immediately after the dissolution of the outgoing State Administrative Council by the delegates.
The motion for dissolution was moved by Comrade Louis Ozah Ozafele of the Senior Staff Association of Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutes and Associated Institutions (SSAUTHRAI) and seconded by Comrade Toyin Alozie from PENGASSAN.
Comrade Ibrahim Mampa, the Returning Officer from the TUC National Secretariat, subsequently swore in the newly elected officers.
In her acceptance remarks, Comrade Amaoge Chukwudi, speaking on behalf of the newly elected SAC, expressed deep appreciation to the delegates for the trust and confidence they had reposed in them.
She assured members that workers’ issues and interests in the FCT will remain the Council’s priority over the next four years. She further pledged to promote fairness and inclusion across all affiliates, regardless of their representation on the SAC, and to leave a lasting impact during her tenure.
Other officers sworn in include:
Comrade Moses E. Otobo, Vice Chairman (CCESSA); Comrade Sunday B. Joseph, Secretary (HAPSSSA); Comrade Nimfa N. Tanko, Assistant Secretary (ATSSSAN); Comrade Musa Saidu Zuba, Treasurer (RTEAN).
Others are Comrade Suyud Kabir Salisu, Financial Secretary (ASSBIFI); Comrade Victor Usman, Auditor (FOBTOB); Comrade Sandra Ogbonna, Women Commission Chairperson (PENGASSAN); Comrade Chika U. Chimezie, Women Commission Secretary (ASCSN).
Officials from the TUC national secretariat witnessed the swearing-in ceremony, as did delegates to the SDC and several observers.
Attendees unanimously accepted the election outcome and took turns congratulating the new officers on their victory. ‎
