The traders Mrs Sherifat Abeke, Alhaji Garba Malam and Orji Onuoha in their suit had accused the Mainland Local Government of planning to evict them and demolishing a market without any due consideration to their well-being.

Already Justice Akinkunmi had granted an interim order restraining the Local Government, and the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice by themselves, agents, privies, servants and or any other person claiming through them from entering, letting, demolishing and building on the land known as White Sand Market, Otto, Oyingbo, Lagos State, during the lifespan of the order which shall be for seven days.

The plaintiffs through their application dated June 14, 2023, had prayed the judge to issue an order of interim injunction restraining the defendants by themselves, their agents, servants, privies and any other person however described from entering the land pending the determination of the suit.

They had also asked the court for an interim injunction restraining the defendants by themselves, their agents, servants, privies, and any other person described as demolishing the construction on the land.
