Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Nigerian Army, Major General Kevin Aligbe, has called on Muslims and Christians to dedicate special prayers for security personnel who sacrificed their lives for national security in the month of Ramadan and the Christian Lenten season.
Aligbe, made the call when he hosted Muslims and Christians to the breaking of fast at the Command Officers’ Mess in Minna, Niger State yesterday.
He said since the season was for spiritual rejuvenation and empathy, there was the need to support the families of those in the field and urged Muslims and Christians observing the fast to embrace the profound lessons of piety, humility and selflessness.
He said, “For those of us at home, we have a responsibility to support the families of those in the field. By making ourselves available to them, we can ensure that they do not feel the absence of their loved ones too deeply. If we all take on this responsibility, we will receive blessings, and our country will become a better place.
“This is also a period in which we must pray for our country. We must pray for those in positions of leadership—from the presidency to governors, ministers, members of the armed forces and their leadership, including service chiefs and everyone in leadership positions across the country,” the commander added.
