It was gathered that the inferno, which started in the afternoon, led to patients and visitors alike scampering to safety, as the blaze emanated from a nursing room on the second floor of the three-storey health facility.

Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye confirmed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the fire was swiftly contained from spreading to other parts of the facility.

According to her, “The fire, which was reported at approximately 15:20 hours, was quickly brought under control, preventing significant damage to the busy healthcare facility. The incident was contained to the room where it originated.”

She added that normal operations have resumed, and medical services to the public continued uninterrupted.
