Transcorp Hotels Plc has recorded a 12 per cent increase in profit before tax (PBT) to N13.7 billion for the second quarter (Q2) ended June 30, 2026, reflecting strong cost management and operational efficiency despite softer revenue during the period.

The unaudited financial results released on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) showed that PBT rose from N12.2 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. Profit after tax (PAT) also grew by 21 per cent to N10.5 billion from N8.7 billion in Q2 2025.

Revenue for the quarter stood at N44.4 billion, compared with N46.9 billion in the same period last year, a decline the company attributed to softer market demand in its international business segment.

Despite the revenue moderation, the company improved its operating expense margin by three percentage points, underscoring its focus on operational efficiency, prudent cost management and revenue optimisation.

According to the company, the results demonstrate the resilience of its business model and reinforce its commitment to operational excellence, customer-focused innovation and long-term value creation for shareholders.

Commenting on the performance, Uzoamaka Oshogwe, managing director and chief executive officer of Transcorp Hotels Plc, said the company remained resilient in the face of a challenging operating environment.

“Our Q2 2026 performance reflects the resilience of our business and the disciplined execution of our strategy in a dynamic operating environment. While market conditions remained challenging, we continued to deliver strong profitability by staying focused on operational excellence, commercial agility and creating exceptional experiences for our guests,” she said.

Oshogwe added that the company would continue to strengthen its market leadership through strategic investments while delivering sustainable long-term returns to shareholders.

Also commenting on the results, the chief finance officer, Oluwatobiloba Ojediran, said disciplined cost management and operational execution were key drivers of the improved earnings.

“Our disciplined approach to cost management, revenue optimisation and operational execution delivered a 12 per cent increase in profit before tax to N13.7 billion, alongside a 21 per cent growth in profit after tax to N10.5 billion, compared with N8.7 billion in the corresponding period last year.

“These strong financial results reinforce the resilience of our business, provide a solid platform for sustainable growth and position us to continue investing strategically while delivering long-term value for our shareholders,” he said.

Beyond its financial performance, the company said it continues to strengthen its portfolio of hospitality and events assets. Its flagship Transcorp Hilton Abuja remains a leading destination for business and leisure travellers, while the Transcorp Centre, one of West Africa’s largest purpose-built conference and event facilities, is increasingly positioning Nigeria as a hub for business tourism.

Since its launch, the Transcorp Centre has hosted several high-profile corporate and social events, further consolidating its reputation as a premier venue for major conferences and international gatherings.
