urged the Senate and Senate President Godswill Akpabio to treat his wife with the respect and dignity she deserves while relevant authorities and the court determine ongoing underlying issues.

In a statement dated March 1, 2025 signed by the traditional ruler and made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Abuja yesterday, he

said his wife had confided in him about her interactions with the senate president, whom he considered a family friend.

He said he had approached the matter with utmost maturity and responsibility, as it was his duty as a traditional ruler who had immense respect for constituted authority and upholds family values to foster peace and harmony.

High Chief Uduaghan said he personally met with Akpabio and respectfully urged him to extend the courtesy and respect his wife deserved, while also honouring the friendship between them, and they reached an understanding and agreed to resolve the issue amicably.

Despite the agreement however, he said his wife continued to express concern about harassments from Akpabio.

He expressed unwavering faith in his wife’s loyalty, and full commitment to their marriage which he said was grounded in love, compassion and mutual respect.

“I would never trade her for anything, as she is the greatest joy of my life,” he said.

The monarch said without prejudice to the ongoing legal processes, he wished to emphasise that his wife was duly elected by her people and due to the immense love, respect and confidence they had in her, she was committed to deliver quality representation to her district and the nation at large.

“She is a devoted wife, and the bond we share is deep and unwavering. She has always remained truthful, even in the face of adversity,” Uduaghan added.

The Warri monarch said recent developments compelled him to issue the statement as it was clear that certain sentiments were being stirred up to unnecessarily distract people from serious underlying allegations which should concern every discerning individual with sound family values.
