Troops Kill 181 Terrorists, Arrest 203 In 1 Week

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says troops neutralised 181 terrorists, arrested 203 including a notorious gunrunner identified as Mohammed Musa (aka Mamman) in Plateau State within the past week.

A statement by the director, defence media operations, Major General Edward Buba, said troops rescued 161 hostages, arrested 50 suspected oil thieves and recovered stolen products worth N728.2m.

He said troops recovered 228 assorted weapons and 6,749 assorted ammunition within the week under review.

In the Niger Delta area, troops discovered and destroyed 47 illegal refining sites, 25 crude oil cooking ovens, 10 dugout pits, 38 boats and 44 storage tanks.

Other items recovered include six speedboats, three receivers, 48 drums, three motorcycles, one mobile phone and 12 vehicles among others. Troops recovered 765,680 litres of stolen crude oil and 86,725 litres of illegally refined AGO.
