Troops Kill Kidnapper Along Jos-Makurdi Road

Troops of the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have neutralised the kidnapper responsible for criminal activities along the Jos – Makurdi Road at Wamba – Agameti in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State.

According to a statement issued in Jos by OPSH media and information officer, Major Samson Zhakom, the troops while conducting the ongoing Operation Lafiyan Jama’a mounted snap checkpoints and intercepted a Volkswagen vehicle with registration number JJN 336 YZ with three occupants.

Two of the occupants suddenly alighted from the vehicle and fled before the checkpoint.

“The vigilant troops discovered bullet holes and blood stains on the vehicle while the criminals attempted to induce troops with monetary gratification which was blatantly refused,” Major Zhakom said,

“Consequently, troops arrested the suspected kidnapper, conducted a thorough search on him and the vehicle and recovered, two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, 30 rounds of 7.62 mm (special) ammunition, three mobile phones and one knife, among others.

He said the during interrogation the man confessed being responsible for kidnapping activities along Jos – Makurdi road and agreed to lead troops to their hideout.

The media officer maintained that the troops would remain committed to the responsibilities of protecting human lives and tracking down criminal elements.
