Troops Kill Terrorists, Recover Arms In Borno, Nasarawa

Nigerian Army troops have neutralised terrorists and recovered arms in Borno and Nasarawa states during clearance operations.

The Nigerian Army yesterday said troops in collaboration with hybrid Force on April 19, 2024 carried out a clearance operation in Kana village, Biu local government area of Borno State.

The statement said troops during the operation had an encounter with the terrorists around Nguma Village and neutralised two terrorists in the firefight.

The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, one motorbike, six bicycles, and other sundry items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.

In another operation on the same day, troops deployed in Nasarawa State, acting on credible intelligence, conducted a cordon and search operation at a suspected criminals’ hideouts around Abuni Village in Awe local government area of Nasarawa State.

The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, and 35 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special).

“The recovered weapons were found in the residence of one Mr Abdullahi Musa, leading to the arrest of other suspects,” the statement read.

The statement said “these successful operations point to troops’ commitment in ensuring the safety and security of the populace.”
