Zenith Bank also donated N300 million for onward utilisation for the flood disaster victims, and Rano donated N50 million to the Maiduguri Relief Fund.

Speaking before presenting the cheque of N1 billion to Governor Zulum, the daughter of TY Danjuma, Ms Gloria Danjuma, alongside the Danjuma Foundation CEO, appealed to the governor to accept the condolences of her father, who could not make it to the state due to some challenges.

Ms Danjuma said,” I am here with the CEO of TY Danjuma Foundation as representatives of Gen. TY Danjuma. I have brought his sympathy letter to you, the members of the council, and the people of Borno State.

“I have also been asked to present a donation of N1 billion. Please accept my father’s condolences; he couldn’t make it due to some challenges.”

In appreciation, Governor Zulum appreciated the representatives of TY Danjuma for the sympathy visit, saying that the destruction goes beyond economic activities but the loss of several lives and properties.
“Let me start by appreciating the representatives of our father led by our daughter. On behalf of the government and people of Borno State I want to appreciate this delegation sincerely,” Zulum said.

He recalled the support given to the Borno government by the TY Danjuma Foundation, which included rehabilitating 20 public institutions destroyed by Boko Haram terrorists in Dikwa and ten public schools and health institutions in Bama, among other things.

Similarly, a delegation of Zenith Bank PLC led by Comfort Kwajjafa also sympathised with Governor Zulum and the entire people of Borno State over the flood disaster and presented a N300 million cheque to the governor. Representatives of the Rano Group, led by Lawan Sabo and Alhaji Ardo Rano, equally sympathised with Governor Zulum over the disaster and donated N50 million to the flood relief fund.
