Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Champion of Interfaith Tolerance Award by Linkway Outreach Africa in collaboration with Linkway Diplomats Inc.
The recognition, announced over the weekend, comes less than two years into Sani’s tenure as governor of Kaduna State.
The organisers said the award was in acknowledgement of what they described as his unwavering commitment to peace, religious inclusiveness and social harmony in a state long confronted with ethno-religious tensions.
In a statement issued by the Country Director of Linkway Outreach Africa, Pastor Daniel E. Adejo, the group noted that Kaduna under Sani’s leadership had witnessed a marked shift towards proactive dialogue and the strengthening of the Inter-Religious Council.
Adejo said the governor had prioritised the “soul of the people” beyond infrastructural development.
The statement read in part, “Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated that leadership is not just about infrastructure, but about the soul of the people, which he has worked assiduously to protect.
“His religious tolerance has unarguably set a template of peace for others to follow by treating every faith with equal respect. He has built a bridge that others must now follow in the protection of sacred lives.”
The group further disclosed that the formal presentation of the Golden Image Award would be accompanied by the launch of a digital archive documenting the governor’s peace initiatives.
