Governor Uba Sani has brought relief to the communities along Pambeguwa-Kahutu-Kauru road that have been yearning for a reliable road for close to 50 years.

The Governor commissioned the 22 kilometre asphaltic road on Tuesday, which has a span bridge connecting Kubau and Kauru local governments.

Speaking at the ceremony, he recalled that on 27th August, 2024 when he came for the flag off of the project, the journey from Pambeguwa to Kauru took about one hour.

Governor Uba Sani however pointed out that the trip took under 12 minutes on Tuesday, owing to the completed road project.

According to him, Kauru was one of the 12 local governments that had not benefited from a single road project in the last 12 years.

He argued that previous administrations had recognised the importance of this route and made efforts to construct it but ‘’for various reasons, the project remained incomplete.’’

‘’When we broke ground for this road on 27th August 2024, we made a solemn commitment to the people of these communities. Today, we return not with explanations or excuses, but with a completed project that speaks for itself.

‘’This moment underscores a defining principle of our administration: promises made to the people must be promises kept,’’ he added.

The Governor promised to also construct township roads within the town and end the almost 20 years of blackout in Kauru because of lack of electricity.

Governor Uba Sani recalled that ‘’since assuming office, our government has embarked on an ambitious but deliberate programme of infrastructure renewal.’’

‘’ We have initiated the construction of 140 roads spanning over 1,335 kilometres across Kaduna State’s three senatorial zones,’’ he added.

According to him, these projects were not chosen at random but his administration was ‘’ guided by data, equity, and a firm resolve to correct years of imbalance in access and opportunity. ‘’

‘’While many of these roads have already been completed and commissioned, others are progressing steadily, reflecting our commitment to continuity and delivery,’’ he added.

The Governor said the new Pambeguwa-Kahutu-Kauru road ‘’provides a reliable alternative route that will reduce dependence on congested routes.

‘’ Travel times will be shorter, transport costs lower, and the movement of goods and people will be safer and more efficient,’’ he said.

Governor Uba Sani pointed out that ‘’emergency services, students, farmers and traders will all benefit from improved access to essential services and markets.’’

He argued that the road was deliberately routed to traverse agriculturally productive communities so that farm produce can reach aggregation centres, processing facilities and consumption hubs with greater ease.

‘’ In doing so, we are enhancing the competitiveness of our farmers and improving value addition along the agricultural chain,’’ he disclosed.
