Uganda has formally submitted its bid to host the 2031 African Games, showcasing its ambition to stage one of the continent’s largest multi-sport spectacles.

The East African nation presented its detailed proposal to the relevant authorities, followed by an inspection team’s visit to key facilities.

Among these was the recently completed Hoima City Stadium, earmarked as a primary venue should Uganda’s bid prove successful.

The African Union Sports Council expressed its satisfaction with Uganda’s submission after evaluating the proposed infrastructure and comprehensive preparedness plans. Officials lauded the standard of the facilities and the country’s dedication to meeting the rigorous requirements for hosting the Games.
