United Nigeria Airlines has announced that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, will be on the inaugural flight of the airline from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to the newly built Ekiti State Airport on Wednesday, 10th December, 2025.

The airline said the development marked a significant milestone in the expansion of domestic air connectivity across Nigeria and reinforced the airline’s commitment to serving emerging routes with growing economic and social importance.

The new service will operate into the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Airport, Ado-Ekiti, opening a fresh chapter for air travel in the state and providing residents, investors, government officials, students, and visitors with a faster, safer, and more convenient travel option.

This inaugural flight represents a significant boost to the state’s economic prospects, providing support for tourism, commerce, agriculture, and the creative industry that continues to flourish in the region.
It also aligns with United Nigeria Airlines’ strategic vision of linking underserved destinations and enhancing mobility across Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the launch, the management of United Nigeria Airlines noted that the decision to begin flight operations to Ekiti was driven by the rising demand for improved connectivity and the airline’s desire to support the state’s development agenda.

The inaugural flight on December 10th will feature key stakeholders from the aviation industry, government representatives, traditional leaders, business executives among others who will join the airline in celebrating this symbolic expansion.
