The Zimbabwe Football Association has called on supporters across the United Kingdom to rally behind the Warriors ahead of their highly anticipated Unity Cup clash against Nigeria’s Super Eagles later this month.

Zimbabwe will face the Super Eagles in the semi-final of the invitational tournament at The Valley in London on Tuesday, 26 May, with the winners advancing to the final scheduled for Saturday, 31 May.

The competition, which also features India and Jamaica, is expected to celebrate football unity among diverse communities while providing participating nations an opportunity to test their squads ahead of future international assignments.

Zimbabwe head coach Kaitano Tembo unveiled a 24-man squad earlier this week as preparations intensified for the encounter against the three-time African champions.

In a statement released through its official social media platforms, ZIFA urged Zimbabweans living abroad to create a strong atmosphere of support by filling the stadium in national colours.

“A night of pride, passion and African football excellence awaits as Zimbabwe’s finest take centre stage in the UK,” the statement read.

“Diaspora family, this is your moment to rally behind the Warriors and paint The Valley in Zimbabwean colours.”

The Unity Cup is expected to attract large crowds from African and Caribbean communities in London, with organisers hoping the tournament will further strengthen sporting and cultural ties among participating nations.

For Nigeria, the competition offers another opportunity for the Super Eagles to continue building under their current coaching crew, while Zimbabwe will see the match as an important test against one of Africa’s most established football nations
