US NGO Pays Medical Bills Of Benue Attack Survivors

An American-based non-governmental organisation, Equipping the Persecuted (ETP), has provided financial support to offset the hospital bills of survivors of a recent armed herdsmen attack on Abaashwa community in Nozorov, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

The support was presented at the General Hospital, Gbajimba, headquarters of Guma Local Government Area, by the Benue State representative of ETP, Comrade Andy Nomsoor.

Speaking during the presentation, Nomsoor said the gesture reflected the organisation’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of victims of attacks and providing immediate relief to affected families.

He said the chief executive officer of ETP, Judd Saul, and the organisation’s media relations officer, Barrister Franc Utoo, an indigene of the area, were deeply saddened by the attack, which reportedly claimed four lives.

Nomsoor also called on governments at all levels to take more decisive action against terrorism and move beyond verbal assurances to protect lives and property.

He urged the Benue State Government to strengthen security in vulnerable communities and create conditions for displaced residents to return safely to their ancestral homes.

The ETP representative said sustained support for victims, coupled with stronger security measures, would be critical to restoring confidence and helping affected communities recover from attacks.
