In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, real estate and investment firm Livebridge Properties and Investment Limited extended love and support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the Karamajiji IDP camp in Abuja.

The company provided free medical care to over 1,000 residents, along with food and other essential supplies for children, women, and the elderly.

Speaking at the event, Livebridge Group managing director/CEO, Mr. Nwaneri Obinna Flaker, emphasised the need for corporate organizations to assist vulnerable communities.

“The government cannot do everything alone, and that’s why we have adopted this IDP camp as part of our corporate social responsibility. On a day like Valentine’s, it’s important to show love to the less privileged,” he said.

Flaker explained that the company prioritizes aiding the most vulnerable members of society, particularly those who struggle to meet basic needs such as healthcare.

“Many of them cannot afford medical treatment, and some require mobility aids like wheelchairs. We believe that supporting them will help ease their burdens,” he added.

Faith Nwaneri Obinna, Director at Livebridge Properties, highlighted the need to bridge the gap between privileged and underprivileged communities. She emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment in reducing poverty.

“If women are given skills and resources, they can generate income and support their families. The government should invest in skill acquisition programs for women, as they have the potential to multiply whatever they receive,” she stated.

Alice Ejembi, Head of Operations at Livebridge Properties, said that similar initiatives have been carried out in other IDP camps, including Kaura camp.

“It’s not just about feeding them; we also conduct medical checkups, provide essential items, and donate mobility aids like wheelchairs,” she explained.

One of the beneficiaries, Grace Dalla, expressed gratitude for the support.

“This is my first time attending their event, and I heard they came last year as well. We really appreciate their help. May God bless them,” she said.
