Students and management of tertiary institutions have been tasked to embrace strategic communication for digital transformation and effective university administration.
The vice chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Delta State, Prof Christopher Ogbogbo, gave the charge at a workshop with the theme, “Building A Digital Information Eco-system for Effective University Management and Public Relations.”
The workshop showcased by lnfinix Tech Cloud Limited (ITC) and Enluka Consultancy Services, was held in collaboration with the Information, Communication and Protocol (ICP) Unit of ADUN, to train participants on the Student Information Desk (SID), a cloud-based ICT product.
Represented by the deputy vice chancellor, Rear Admiral Mohammed Abdullahi, the VC noted that there is no end to learning adding that digital innovation would aid ADUN to achieve its mission.
“I commend the ICP Unit for leading such a forward-thinking initiative. The workshop is designed to empower staff with essential skills and tools to thrive in the evolving digital information landscape while enhancing strategic communication and public relations efforts,” he stated.
Speaking during the training, the chief technology officer of ITC and Enluka, Mr Taiwo Akinosho said they build operational applications and products for organisations to help students communicate with the management and fix their problems and get results within 30 minutes to 24 hours.
Earlier in his welcome address, the information/protocol officer of ADUN, Mr Kotor Esiri emphasised the importance of information communication and protocol to the day-to-day running of the 21st century university management system.
