The management of Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi has warned that it would no longer tolerate encroachment on the institution’s land, and anyone caught trespassing on it would face the consequences.
The vice chancellor, Prof. Tor Iorapuu, who gave the warning while conducting journalists and the general manager of the Benue State Urban Development Board, Ternongo Mede, round the university’s land which has been encroached, vowed to resist any attempt to take it.
He expressed concern over decades-long threats of land encroachment by Mission House, describing the action by its management as frustrating the efforts of the founder of the institution and future generations.
The general manager who expressed shock on the level of encroachment said his office had attempted several times to meditate on the problem but the owner of Mission House International refused to come, adding that he was waiting for approval from the governor for the action on the encroachment.
