Bobby J Brown, widely recognised for his role as Officer Bobby Brown in the acclaimed television series The Wire, has died at the age of 62.
According to reports, the veteran actor died following a barn fire incident. His daughter told entertainment outlet TMZ that he succumbed to smoke inhalation.
The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that Brown’s cause of death was ruled as diffuse thermal injury and smoke inhalation. Authorities determined the incident to be accidental.
Reports indicate that Brown had entered the barn to jump-start a vehicle when the fire broke out. He was said to have requested a fire extinguisher; however, by the time help arrived, the structure had already been engulfed in flames.
His wife sustained severe burns while attempting to rescue him. Details regarding her current condition were not immediately available at the time of filing this report.
