Veteran Yoruba Actor Tombolo Rides Okada To Survive, Seeks Help

Actor Kunle Afod has appealed to the public for financial assistance on behalf of veteran Yoruba film star Ezekiel Atilola, popularly known as Tombolo, who has turned to commercial motorcycle riding to support his family.

Atilola, who began his acting career in 1984 and gained fame for his role in the classic movie Tombolo, revealed his financial struggles during an interview posted on Afod’s YouTube channel.

The actor explained that a lack of financial backing has prevented him from producing his own films, leaving him without a steady income stream from the movie industry.

To keep his household afloat and pay his daughter’s polytechnic fees, Atilola sold his personal motorcycle and acquired another on an installment payment plan. He currently pays ₦30,000 weekly toward the ₦1.5 million cost of the vehicle.

“There is no one to help me. I am the only boy my mother gave birth to, and I have three elder sisters. I am the only one people really know, and there is no money with them either,” Atilola said during the interview.

Following the revelation, Afod called on well-meaning Nigerians to assist the veteran actor by offering financial support to help stabilize his livelihood.
