Zainab, who was a guest on a Mic-On, a political and current affairs podcast anchored by media practitioner, Seun Okinbaloye, also spoke about her time as staff in Aso Villa under the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

She revealed that Osinbajo was not given the opportunity to express himself while he served as vice president.

She said if the former vice president was allowed to implement the ideas he had things would have been different.

“Some forces didn’t allow him to do what he wanted to do. If he was allowed he would have done better,” she said.

She revealed that Osinbajo recruited her to work with him shortly before the government was inaugurated in 2015.

The technical adviser under the office of the former vice president said the current political coalition would require unity if they intend to defeat President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

Her father, a veteran politician and fierce critic of former president Buhari (his estranged political ally), has also been critical of the Tinubu administration.

She said a political storm was rising from the North against President Tinubu, whom she said won’t get more than 30 percent of the votes from the region.

Reacting to the coalition’s chances of unseating Tinubu in 2027, the APC member said it would require unity and setting aside their interests to achieve that.

She said the coalition could defeat Tinubu, “If they are united and leave interests behind.”

“They have to bring all their army on board. It’s not easy removing someone from power.”
She said if they come scattered, they wouldn’t stand a chance.

She nevertheless expressed reservations about the coalition, adding that some of those in the coalition were part of those who didn’t perform while serving as influential ministers in the immediate past Buhari government.

“This coalition isn’t giving me the vibe. They are the same people. They just want to get the young people to help them win elections and then leave them behind. So, I am not fully convinced by the coalition,” she said.
With regard to some former Buhari ministers in the coalition movement, she said, “I am yet to understand what this is all about. I am not convinced about their arguments. They were in government for eight years and they didn’t do much. I really want to understand what they were fighting for.”

She however hinted that Tinubu’s electoral rating in the North has dropped, adding that he might not be able to get above 30 percent of votes from the region.

She said 2027 will be Tinubu’s toughest battle yet.

She added that there was growing resentment towards the administration in the north.

She said, “I am afraid of the storm that is coming,” when pressed she said, “Some people might think it’s the North. But if it blows up in the North, the country is gone.”

She said the Tinubu government was not sensitive enough with executing the economic reforms, stressing that there is serious hunger and poverty in the country.

My father didn’t get me villa job

She said her father didn’t get her the presidency job because the Buhari administration didn’t get along with his father.

She said ‘anybody that knows that I am his daughter, if I come to ask for any favors I don’t get it.’

Disappointed in APC

She said she was highly disappointed with the APC administration so far.

“APC was not able to manage victory and was not ready for governance.”

She said most of the people in the Buhari government didn’t know their jobs.

A former council in Abuja, she said the Buhari and Tinubu administration are one and the same with regards to poor performance.

She recounted that her windscreen of her car was broken because, according to her they said ‘’oh you promised us now you are inside car”
