Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets thrashed the Benin Republic 4-1 in their opening fixture of the ongoing WAFU B U-17 Championship on Wednesday. George Agha scored a hat-trick for Nigeria in the Group B encounter held at Stade du Lycée Scientifique, Yamoussoukro. Agha opened the scoring for the Golden Eaglets in the fourth minute, with David Edeh doubling the advantage just two minutes later. Manu Garba’s side added two more goals through Agha in the 14th and 31st minutes respectively. Jeremy Zannou pulled a goal back for Benin Republic just before half-time. The Golden Eaglets currently top the group with three points, level with Burkina Faso, who have an inferior goal difference.
