The Bauchi State Government has announced the passing of Alhaji Abubakar Jafaru Ilelah, the Wakilin Sadarwan Bauchi.
Alh Ilelah died on Tuesday after a brief illness.
Until his demise, Alhaji Jafaru Ilelah was recently appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Public Enlightenment.
LEADERSHIP reports that Jafaru was a seasoned farmer and prominent agricultural development expert, who made invaluable contributions to the growth of agriculture in Bauchi State.
He previously served as the Programme Manager of the Bauchi State Agricultural Development Programme (BSADP), from which he retired after years of dedicated service.
In a statement issued by Mukhtar Gidado, his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Governor Mohammed described the deceased as a respected public relations icon, a grassroots mobiliser, and a dedicated public servant whose legacy in community engagement and public enlightenment will be long remembered.
Governor Mohammed, in a message of condolence on behalf of his family, the government, and the people of Bauchi State, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
He further described the late Wakilin Sadarwan Bauchi as a committed patriot, a man of honour, and a bridge-builder whose wisdom and service will be sorely missed.
The Governor prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and asked Almighty Allah to grant his family, the Ilelah clan, the Bauchi Emirate Council, the media community, and the entire people of Bauchi State the strength to bear the loss.
