Wale Adenuga, Egbe Others Receive AFRICUFF Lifetime Achievement Awards

Producer of Super Story and Papa Ajasco, Wale Adenuga and filmmaker and director, Blessing Effiom Egbe received the African Cultural Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Awards at festival’s maiden edition held recently in Houston, Texas.

Adenuga and Egbe were recognized for their germane contribution to the development of Africa’s film sector.

Others awarded at the event include a special recognition award to Nkem Den Chukwu, and Best Director Award to Uzodimma Okpechi.

The 4-day event which showcases African film and culture, whilst networking African filmmakers and Creatives to the world, had Jagun Jagun as it’s opening film, and Uzodimma Okpechi’s Kamsi as the closing film.

Via the theme, Thinking Local, Going Global, AFRICUFF aims at bridging the chasm between global audiences and African storytellers, hence the diverse film-related dialogues, such as Filmmaking In The Continent & The Diaspora, How African Films Have Influenced Social & Political Change; in addition to documentaries and films analyses, and movie screenings.

AFRICUFF was graced by Nigerian acting heavyweights as Chioma Chukwuka, Uche Jumbo, Majid Michael, Bode Ok, Eva Banks among others.
