Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, says the present administration remains committed to protecting lives and livelihoods while ensuring that Nigerians continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He spoke yesterday on Radio Link, a Radio Nigeria public affairs participatory programme organised as part of activities to mark 27 years of uninterrupted democratic governance and the third anniversary of the Tinubu administration.

According to the minister, despite ongoing security challenges in some parts of the country, the government remains resolute in its efforts to restore peace and guarantee the safety of citizens.

“The Tinubu administration, while acknowledging the security challenges in parts of the country, is nevertheless relentlessly applying decisive measures to neutralise threats, restore peace and create a secure environment where citizens can live, work and prosper,” Idris said.

He also said the administration remained committed to strengthening democratic institutions and creating conditions necessary for national development and economic prosperity.

Speaking on the economy, the minister expressed confidence that the administration’s bold economic reforms were beginning to yield positive results.  He said key economic indicators point towards recovery, stability and sustainable growth.

Idris described June 12 as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey, stressing that it represents more than a date in the nation’s history.

“June 12 is a powerful testament to Nigeria’s democratic resilience, courage and collective aspiration for accountable governance,” he stated.
