A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Chief Emeka Agba Foundation (CEAF) has said a robust empowerment process can be used to tackle problems like poverty, hunger, insecurity, joblessness and illiteracy.
Addressing journalists in Lagos, Chief Emeka Agba said, “Dignity of labour is seriously being threatened based on wrong school curriculum whereby young men and women are not given skillful training that can make them self- dependent after schooling.
He said the foundation would partner any individuals or corporate bodies to tackle the problem of insecurity, poverty and hunger which has become a menace in the country.
He added that, “Chief Emeka Agba Foundation empathy and desire for grassroots development where humanitarian service is needed to address youth empowerment, vocational skills acquisition, scholarships, mentorship, health and creating an enabling environment for socioeconomic independence of young Nigerians.
“The NGO is out to address poverty and poverty related challenges at the grassroots,” Agba said.
He lamented that many Nigerian homes cannot boast of three square meals, saying,’’ Many young and agile people have resorted to crimes and criminal tendencies with ritual killings taking centre stage as people resort to get rich quick measures and there is no longer dignity in labour as taught by our parents.”
‘’The Chief Emeka Agba foundation was borne out of passion, empathy and desire for grassroot development where humanitarian service is needed to address youth empowerment, vocational skills acquisition, scholarships, mentorship, health and creating enabling environment for socioeconomic independence of young Nigerians.’’
