Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has expressed concern that some miscreants had taken over the state while he was away performing the annual pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
“All of us are policemen, we must be able to secure our communities, our local governments. While we have been applauded for making it in Bauchi town, it is becoming impossible, everyday more people are coming out doing sins, that is very worrisome,” he said.
Bala was speaking when he chaired the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting after his return to the state, saying that, “We cannot surrender our state or capital to any miscreant or charlatan”.
He said; “We would do whatever we would do, but I believe whether I am here or not, these things would have been done because we have templates on the ground, but unfortunately it is not so.
“We have to make sure that things are not casual or ad-hoc, we should do things not because of eye-service, the ministry for security affairs should sit-up, because this thing is very unfortunate, it has shown a lot of gaps in your ministry”.
Governor Bala told the security and internal affairs commissioner, “We have not been micromanaging you, we wanted you to make sure that at least you carry our own achievements to a level of no return.”
