Indigenes of Ibadan under the auspices of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) have declared that the crisis between Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has been resolved.
The CCII, in a statement signed by its President-General, Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole, on Sunday, issued through the Publicity Secretary of the elite socio-cultural organisation, Kola Olomide, noted the reported dethronement move against the Ibadan monarch and the alleged plan to impeach the governor.
CCII, which is the apex socio-cultural group in the ancient city, in the statement, noted that the crisis had been laid to rest.
It declared that external forces that attempted to escalate the situation have been defeated.
The group debunked the alleged dethroment and impeachment plots against Olubadan and Makinde, respectively.
The organisation explained that the disagreement between the duo had been addressed through dialogue and traditional conflict-resolution mechanisms in Ibadanland.
“The issues between Governor Makinde and the Olubadan have been resolved amicably, and the external forces that attempted to create a crisis around the situation have been defeated.
“Nobody is planning to impeach Governor Makinde, and nobody is also planning to remove the Olubadan from his throne,” the statement declared.
