The Managing Director of Kaduna Mining Development Company Limited, Dr Mohammed Nura Sani, has promised that the state will soon be the first to produce liquid steel for industrial development in Africa.
Dr Sani disclosed this at the 7th edition of Kaduna Investment Summit (KadInvest 7.0), when he made a presentation during the Business Expo segment of the event which kicked off on Thursday.
The Managing Director clarified that work on the steel company is in top gear and it will soon be completed for industrial use.
According to him, ”we also have mineral deposits which are useful in construction industries. These include granite, laterite and whatever mineral you can think of that are necessary for construction industries.’’
Dr Sani whose presentation centred on the broad theme of the summit, “Building a Resilient Economy”, also disclosed that there are large quantities of mineral resources in Kaduna state.
The Managing Director asked investors to invest in the mining sector because there are various licenses which cover areas of different minerals such as granite, laterite, gold, tin, columbite, tantalite, iron, manganese, garnet, beryllium, nickel, platinum, cobalt and lithium.
According to him, Kaduna State Government has entered joint ventures agreements with some investors which has led to the formation of companies that are already exploring minerals in the state.
“Kaduna state is healthy for business opportunity because we have deliberate policies and massive infrastructures to help business development,’’ Sani added.
