The Arewa Professionals Forum has cautioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against maltreatment of former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, stating that they stand by him for appearing at the anti graft office.

The group said their attention has been drawn to the continuous harassment of former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

A statement jointly signed by Abraham Atawodi, Secretary, Hassan Galadima, Chairman and member, Ambassador Onoja Onoja, the group said it is an established fact that the eight-year tenure of Yahaya Bello in Kogi brought about unprecedented infrastructural development, quality education, free for all healthcare and massive women and youth empowerment across the state.

“The man practically re-defined good governance in the Kogi. The good people of Kogi state can attest to this.

“Therefore, we wish to call on the anti-graft agency to be fair and just in their fight against corruption and abide by the rule of law.

“Conclusively, the Coalition Of Arewa Professionals Forum stands by this illustrious son of Kogi and warns his ‘hidden political persecutors’ to leave Yahaya Bello alone.
