Mbanugo made the disclosure during the handover ceremony in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Mbanugo promised to discharge her duties with the utmost dedication while leaving no stone unturned. She said, “We are going to put a human face in the discharge of our duties, and no stone will be left unturned in the state.

“My office will do everything within the law to clamp down on oil thrifts destroying our oil pipelines in the state,” she said.

The NSCDC boss appealed to Imo people to support them with important information to keep the state safer and aid their jobs.

The immediate past commandant, Matthew Ovye, thanked the officers and personnel for his support and appealed the same for the new commandant, saying, “From 2019 till date, the cooperation and working support has been wonderful.

I implore you to extend the same support to the new commandant”.

Ovye extended his gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for his support during his stay and promised to remain hardworking in his next assignment in Delta State.

A high point of the event was the official handover of the command’s flag to Mbanugo by Ovye.
