African Democratic Congress (ADC) said it is building a strong coalition in Kaduna State and across the North West to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

The party’s national vice chairman (North West), Mallam Jafaru Sani, stated this in his Independence Day message on Thursday, calling for a national “rescue mission” to deliver good governance and restore hope to Nigerians.

Sani said the ADC leadership in the region, made up of “people of proven integrity and competence,” was united in pursuing a vision of a prosperous nation that guarantees equal opportunities for all citizens.
“As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, we reflect not only on our journey as a nation but on the urgent need to chart a new course — one rooted in justice, equity, and visionary leadership,” he said.
According to him, the party is determined to unseat the APC both in Kaduna and nationally, insisting that “unity, discipline, and grassroots mobilisation” would be the tools to achieve victory.
Sani also responded to a recent statement by former APC National Vice Chairman, Salihu Lukman, who questioned ADC’s ability to challenge the ruling party.

“His caution is valid, but it is not a verdict. It is a challenge — and we accept it. The truth is simple: ADC can and will defeat APC if we work together,” he declared.

The ADC chieftain urged members, supporters and sympathisers to rally around the party’s leadership and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2027 polls.

“The rescue mission is not just about Kaduna — it is about Nigeria. It is about restoring dignity to governance and giving power back to the people,” he added.

Sani concluded by calling on all patriots to use the 65th independence anniversary as a turning point to recommit themselves to building a nation that works for everyone.

“Let this Independence Day be the day we recommit ourselves to building a Nigeria that works for all,” he said.
