Administrator of the National Judicial Institute Abuja, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo (rtd), has said the 2025 All Nigeria Judges’ Conference was targeted at building a confident and independent Judiciary.

At a pre-conference media briefing on Thursday, the administrator said confidence in the judiciary is the cornerstone of democracy.

“It is the assurance that justice will be dispersed fairly, impartially, and without fear or favour.  A judiciary that commands confidence is one that strengthens the rule of law, protects fundamental rights and upholds the values of equity and fairness,” Justice Adejumo said.

He hinted that judges at the conference would examine how best to reinforce judicial independence, enhance ethical standards and ensure that the courts remain accessible, transparent and responsive to the needs of the people.

The administrator said the NJI as the training arm of the judiciary, remained committed to equipping judicial officers and their supporting staff with the knowledge, skills and values required to meet the challenges of modern adjudication, through capacity building, research and continuous education.

He added that the institute also strives to ensure that judges are not only competent but also courageous in the discharge of their duties.
