Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed the reason behind his conversion from Christianity to Islam, explaining that it was part of his search for spiritual enlightenment and deeper understanding of life.

In a recent interview with streamer Playboymax, Burna Boy said his search for deeper meaning through various religious studies has only left him more confused.

“Growing up, I was a Christian and then I converted to Islam. It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still out here trying to find out what is really going on, you know? The more I research, the more confused I get,” he said.

The ‘City Boys’ crooner added that his spiritual journey was ongoing, as he continued to seek personal truth and understanding beyond the boundaries of organised religion.

This revelation comes months after another Nigerian singer, 9ice, spoke about his own spiritual transformation.
