Governor Dauda Lawal has said his administration is prioritising girl-child education and women financial empowerment to deepen development across the state.
He said girl-child education and economic empowerment of women is the requisite necessities for the development of any society.
The governor spoke on Wednesday in Gusau when he received Comrade Aisha Ibrahim K. Burra, the National President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), at the Government House in Gusau.
NAWOJ held a three-day workshop on gender equity and safety, as well as gender-sensitive reporting for women journalists in Zamfara State.
Governor Lawal reiterated to the president that his government is an advocate for gender equity, which is why he has implemented policies promoting girl-child education and creating numerous opportunities for women.
