Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, has explained that he withdrew his petition before the State Election Petitions Tribunal in the interest of the state.
He charged Nigerians not to be distracted because the problem of the country has nothing to do with the ongoing politics.
Abe, who made the appeal yesterday in Port Harcourt, the state capital when he addressed SDP stakeholders, said the 2023 politics had gone and there was need for the people of the state to join hands for the unity, progress and prosperity of Rivers.
He said, “For those of you that are worried, nobody is your enemy. Politics of 2023 has gone. We withdrew the case because we want to contribute to the unity, progress and prosperity of Rivers State.
“When it is time to move the state forward, any hand that is extended to you for a contribution to move Rivers State forward, you must take that hand so that we make our own contribution.
“Let it not be like everything is about only you or only me or only us. We must at a point put our state ahead of us and that is how we will be able to make progress,” he said.
Abe stated that Nigerians can now confirm the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, actually graduated from the Chicago State University, with flying colours.
The SDP governorship candidate said, “Don’t be distracted, the problem of Nigeria is not the politics that you see playing out.
When you hear people talk about certificates, at the whole of the end of the certificate journey, what all Nigerians can confirm is that President Tinubu attended Chicago State University.
“President Tinubu was an honours student and graduated top of his class, confirmed by the university. True or false?
“So, what is the problem there? Have they told you anything different from what the man told you himself; that he is a top class brain and has the accounting ability to solve our money problems in Nigeria?”
