Why Ned Nwoko Wanted To Arrest Regina Daniels’ Mother Before He Changed His Mind — VDM

Controversial social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has revealed the reason why Delta North Senator, Ned Nwoko, initially wanted to arrest his mother-in-law, Rita Daniels, before later changing his mind.

In a video posted on his Facebook page on Friday evening, VDM claimed that he personally spoke with the billionaire politician and estranged husband of Nollywood star Regina Daniels amid their marriage crises, urging him to forgive and drop plans to arrest Regina’s mother and to also release her brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, from detention.

According to VDM, Senator Nwoko was deeply angered by comments allegedly made by Regina Daniels’ mother about the death of his son in the United Kingdom.

“I spoke to Senator Ned Nwoko. Honestly, I didn’t even think he was going to pick my call,” VDM said. “I told him, ‘Sir, my name is VeryDarkMan,’ and he said, ‘Oh, VeryDarkMan, I watch your videos.’”

VDM said he told the Senator that his call was in connection with Sammy West’s arrest and reports that a warrant of arrest had also been issued for Regina Daniels’ mother.

“He said ‘yes’, that he must arrest the woman,” VDM revealed. “He told me the woman (Regina’s mother) triggered something in him when she came out publicly to say his son, who died in the UK, was a drug addict, that he died from drug abuse. He said that was not true, that his son actually died of heart failure caused by sporting activities, and there was an autopsy to prove it.”

According to VDM, Nwoko said the allegations were defamatory and deeply painful to him and his family.

“He said, ‘Thank God this is not Nigeria where they don’t do autopsy. In the UK, everything is properly recorded,’” VDM recounted.

The activist said he then pleaded with the Senator to consider Rita Daniels’ grief as a mother and forgive her.

“I told him, ‘Sir, she’s a mother who spoke out of pain. She didn’t mean to disrespect you. Please, there’s no need to arrest her,’” VDM narrated. “He said no at first, but after much talk, he finally agreed not to go after her anymore.”

VDM, however, noted that while Ned Nwoko eventually decided against arresting Regina’s mother, he maintained his position on Sammy West’s detention, claiming the young man had threatened him online.

“He told me the boy (SammyWest) said he would beat him up and even made social media posts about it,” VDM said. “He also said he had supported the family before, even sponsoring some of them to study abroad, and couldn’t understand why they would turn against him.”

VDM later told his online followers that his intervention had helped prevent the arrest of Regina Daniels’ mother, though he admitted Sammy West remained in custody.

“They’re not going to arrest Regina Daniels’ mother again,” VDM said. “I know people will not thank me — they’ll still insult me. But at least we’ve begged for the boy to be released.”
