A renowned dentist, Dr. Callistus Obiora, who is an advocate of advanced orthodontic technology, said, “Invisalign technology would provide more precise, efficient care for patients and ensure optimal treatment outcomes.

He advised the practitioners to take advantage of a certification programme by Orthodontic Dental Enterprises (ODE) to sharpen their skills.

The capacity building programme organised by Orthodontic Dental Enterprise (ODE) in Nigeria, in partnership with Align Technology, practitioners will be Invisalign certified at the end.

He said the Invisalign capacity programme, put together by a global leader in clear aligner therapy, would not only enhance their orthodontic skills but will enable them to enjoy a range of benefits of their profession.

According to ODE, the Invisalign Certification Programme allows dental professionals to become certified providers of Invisalign treatment to patients.

The company explained that upon certification, a dental professional can evaluate patients, create treatment plans using Invisalign’s proprietary software, and oversee the course of treatment to achieve straighter teeth and a more desirable smile.

It, however, said that without being a certified Invisalign provider, a doctor will not be able to provide Invisalign treatment to patients.

“The objective is to build the capacity of experienced dental providers in Nigeria and to enhance their orthodontic skills under the renowned Invisalign Certification Programme,” he said.

The Invisalign Certification Programme allows dental professionals to become certified providers of Invisalign treatment. Upon certification, a dental professional can evaluate patients, create treatment plans using Invisalign’s proprietary software, and oversee the course of treatment to achieve straighter teeth and a more desirable smile.

They would become proficient in using Invisalign’s proprietary software and treatment planning tools. This means that they can provide more precise, efficient, and comfortable orthodontic care to their patients.

‘’Dental professionals, who complete the Invisalign Certification Programme will gain access to advanced orthodontic technologies.’’

Invisalign, known for its discreet and effective teeth-straightening solutions, has become the preferred treatment for patients seeking orthodontic care.

By this innovative technology, certified dental professionals can provide a wider range of orthodontic treatments, catering to the diverse needs of their patients. This will not only enhance the services offered by their practices but also provides a one-stop solution for various orthodontic requirements.

It was gathered that without certification by Invisalign provider, a doctor will not be able to provide Invisalign treatment to patients.

In recent years, dental practices in Nigeria have undergone a transformative journey by embracing digital tools to enhance patient satisfaction and deliver superior dental outcomes. The Invisalign Certification is also aimed at curbing dental tourism, as Nigerians no longer need to travel abroad for high-end dental/orthodontic procedures.

According to him, Invisalign gives dental professionals a distinct edge. Patients seeking a more discreet and comfortable alternative to traditional braces often prefer providers with Invisalign expertise. This preference can lead to increased patient traffic and steady practice growth.

Obiora said, Invisalign also offers a patient-centric approach to orthodontic care, aligning well with the evolving expectations of healthcare consumers. The comfort and aesthetics of Invisalign aligners often attract patients, enhancing patient attraction and, most importantly, patient retention. Certified dentists and orthodontists can capitalise on this by building long-term relationships with their patients.

Research shows that Invisalign certification also has huge clinical and financial benefits. Invisalign’s treatment planning software allows for precise case management, potentially reducing the number of adjustments needed during treatment, according to studies. This streamlines clinical processes, making treatment more efficient and cost-effective for both the practice and the patients.
