Popular Nigerian TikTok creator, Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, widely known as Jarvis, has explained why her boyfriend and fellow content creator, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, chose to propose to her in Accra, Ghana, rather than in Nigeria.
Speaking during a recent livestream, Jarvis revealed that the decision to travel to Ghana for the romantic beach proposal was made due to safety concerns and a desire to avoid public disruptions.
She noted that hosting an event at home could have attracted individuals with bad intentions or local area boys, commonly called Agberos, who might have disrupted the occasion to demand money.
“Peller didn’t engage me in Nigeria because there are a lot of people in Nigeria with bad intentions to spoil everything for us, or even Agberos who will come and ask us to pay them money. So, we just had to think outside the box for somewhere peaceful and calm.”
The beachside engagement, held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, has generated significant online discussion. While many fans sent congratulatory messages to the young couple, others debated the security concerns raised by the content creator regarding public proposals in Nigeria.
Following the engagement, Peller also surprised Jarvis by displaying a video of the special moment on a public billboard, which she shared excitedly with her followers on social media.
