A nursing mother, Esther Osaghae and her family have petitioned the inspector general of police, Kayode Egbetokun, appealing to him to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of her husband, Fidelis Osaghae.

Esther, who spoke to the press in Lagos, stated that her life got darkened a few weeks ago when her husband, a hotel manager, was said to have died in controversial circumstances at his workplace in Auchi, Edo State.

She said the drama occurred on July 28, 2024, and the matter was later moved to Auchi Police Station.
Mrs Osaghae suspects something fishy about her husband’s demise and laments the uncooperative attitude of the Divisional Police Officer whose station received the case in Auchi.

The widow, in a letter to the police chief, said she could not understand how her healthy husband, who left for work at about 2:30 am and requested her to leave the door unlocked for him, suddenly died at his workplace.

She picked holes in the narrative given by the boss of her husband, who said that Fidelis (Esther’s husband) committed suicide by drinking sniper at his workplace.

The mother of a three-month-old baby said that she suspected that her husband must have been murdered after seeing dark patches and injuries on his body. She said she also noticed that his trouser was torn as if he was manhandled.

Mrs. Osaghale said she wants her husband’s boss, Valentine Oyemike investigated thoroughly since he was the only person who could shed light on what happened to her husband, including shedding light on the strange marks on his body.

“I want the public and police to know that the death of my husband on July 28, 2024, is suspicious, and so I, with the help of the Akin Fadeyi Foundation, have written to the inspector general of police to help us look into the circumstances of my husband’s death.
