In a statement released yesterday by his senior special assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the minister referred to the loss of Bernard as “painful” and extended prayers for the repose of his soul.

Wike encouraged former Governor Ortom and the Ortom Adorogo family from Guma local government area, Benue State, to remain strong and find solace in God, the creator of life and death.

“The news of the death of Mr Bernard Tyozenda Ortom came to me as a rude shock, and I understand the feeling of loss that my brother and friend, His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom, must be experiencing right now.

“However, as painful and shocking as this death may be, I urge you to find solace in God, who has made death inevitable.
