Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has drawn the attention of the FCT judiciary to the indiscriminate injunctions in the territory especially in the land administration.
The minister stated this yesterday while playing host to the chief judge of the FCT high court, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, who was on a courtesy visit to the minister.
Wike said he would replicate Rivers State’s feat in the FCT.
He promised that his administration would build houses for judges at their retirement and asked the chief judge to intimate him where necessary in the area of the welfare of judicial officers.
He told the visiting judges led by the chief judge that the welfare of judges is paramount if the country actually wants to win the battle against corruption.
The minister also gave assurance that the administration of President Bola Tinubu will bring back the good times that judicial officers are free from the mental torture of poor working conditions.
The FCT chief judge, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, said the issue of perpetual injunctions has been tackled, saying the judges under him have been directed that only his office can henceforth assign cases concerning land matters.
