Woman, 2 Children Killed In Kaduna Building Collapse

A woman and her two children have been killed after a building collapsed in Dan Mani community, Rigasa, in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, throwing residents into mourning.

An eyewitness said the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, adding that the woman’s five-year-old son was among those who died in the collapse.

Residents reportedly gathered in the area on Friday morning to sympathise with the bereaved family following the tragedy.

The spokesperson for the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), Dominic Philip, confirmed the deaths, saying the agency had deployed an assessment, rescue and search team to the scene.

Philip said, “We got the report of building collapse in Dan Mani Community in Rigasa today and deployed our rescue and search team to the area.

“The report from our team led by the Zone Two Coordinator, who is in charge of Kaduna and environs, stated that the woman and her two children unfortunately died in the collapsed building.”

The agency did not immediately disclose the cause of the collapse.
