A woman has allegedly beaten her 15-year-old son whom she accused of stealing her N200 to death.
The eldest son of the woman was said to have assisted her in the act.
The incident occurred on Thursday at Obire Street, off Cemetery Road, Warri, Delta State.
Some residents of the street who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said the boy’s hands and legs were tied and his body was pierced with a hot knife.
Done behind closed doors, efforts by neighbours to rescue the boy were unsuccessful.
“When she realised that her son was dying, she ran out and cried for help but before they arrived at the hospital, her son died,” a source said.
The source further disclosed that her late son hawked smoked fish for the mother after which he would go for apprenticeship in repair of handsets.
It was also gathered that the body of the boy was deposited at the Central Hospital, Warri.
Police spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, said the incident had not been reported to them at the time of filing this report.
