Woman In Court Over N7.2m Fraud

A woman, Adeola Olowo, has been brought before a popChief Magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for an alleged fraud.
Olowo, 39,  is standing trial over alleged N7.2 million fraud.
Police prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant and others at large committed  the offense between January and March 2026 at Ado-Ekiti within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District.
Oriyomi said he did fraudulently obtain the sum of N7, 231, 200:00 from one Tolani Lawal.
The defendant, the police prosecutor said under false pretence of supplied her unsuspecting victim 3 deep freezers, create of eggs, food stuff and livestock.
Oriyomi noted that the defendants committed an offence contrary to Section 328 and punishable under Section 329 (3) of the Criminal Laws of EKiti State 2021.
Mr Opeyemi Esan, who is the counsel to the defendant, prayed the court to grant his client bail, that she will not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adeosun subsequently  adjourned the case  till August 10, 2026 for hearing.
