The All Progressives Congress (APC) women’s group in Adamawa State has asked the executive secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Ahmed Galadima, to resign his position and contest for the state’s governorship seat.
The group said Galadima had demonstrated the leadership qualities needed to sustain the Governor Ahmadu Fintiri transformation agenda and urged him to heed the call of Adamawa women and vulnerable groups by contesting in the 2027 general elections.
According to the group, it has already raised over N120 million to purchase the party’s nomination form for him and is mobilising more than three million votes for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
The women described their action as a patriotic effort to ensure good governance, peace, progress, and stability under Galadima’s perspective leadership in the state.
Hajiya Mariya Adamu Nyako, popularly known as Zinariya Mayo Belwa and State Coordinator of GWSM, delivered a passionate address endorsing Galadima as the “golden boy” of Adamawa politics.
She highlighted his track record in education, youth empowerment, community development, and philanthropy, describing him as a man with the requisite knowledge
“Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Galadima has touched many lives through his benevolence, and his impact is felt not only in Adamawa but across the nation,” she said.
She further revealed that groups and individuals who have benefited from Galadima’s support have already raised N129 million towards his aspiration.
The movement has set an ambitious target of N200 million to support its bid. “This money will help purchase his nomination form and more. It is a clear call on him to contest the governorship seat. We believe he will not disappoint us,” she added.
